Main Responsibilities

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and optimize operations for a small but growing food or feed manufacturing factory with 20+ employees.

The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of leadership experience, preferrably in food/feed production, a strong background in operational efficiency, quality control, and team management, and a master’s degree in engineering (preferred).

This role requires a hands-on leader who can drive productivity, cost control, and compliance while fostering a high-performance culture. Fluency in English is mandatory, and Vietnamese is a strong plus.


Key Responsibilities

1. Operational Leadership & Production Management

• Oversee end-to-end factory operations, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and on-time delivery.

• Implement lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and improve productivity.

• Monitor KPIs (e.g., production output, downtime, yield, cost per unit) and implement corrective actions.

• Lead continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., automation, process optimization, energy efficiency).

2. Strategic Planning & Business Growth

• Develop and execute short- and long-term business strategies in collaboration with board of directors

• Support sales & marketing teams to expand customer base and distribution channels.

3. Team Leadership & People Management

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 20+ employees

• Conduct performance reviews, set clear goals, and drive employee engagement & retention.

• Resolve conflicts, motivate teams, and promote a collaborative work environment.

4. Financial & Cost Control

• Manage P&L responsibility, ensuring profitability and cost efficiency.

• Identify cost-saving opportunities (e.g., supplier negotiations, energy optimization, inventory management).

• Work with finance teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and reporting.

5. Supply Chain & Logistics

• Ensure timely procurement of raw materials (e.g., grains, additives, packaging) at competitive prices.

• Manage inventory levels to avoid stockouts or excess waste.

6. Quality Assurance & Compliance

• Ensure product quality meets industry standards (e.g., feed safety for livestock, human food safety).

• Lead customer complaint investigations and implement corrective actions.

• Stay updated on regulatory changes (e.g., FDA, EU, or local food/feed laws) and ensure compliance.

7. Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Compliance

• Ensure workplace safety 

• Implement sustainability initiatives


Requirements

Required:

·       10+ years of experience, with 5+ years in a leadership role (Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager).

·       Proven track record in managing small to mid-sized factories (20-100 employees).

·       Strong operational experience in production planning, quality control, and supply chain management.

·       Financial acumen – ability to read and understand P&L, budgets, and cost optimization.

·       Leadership skills – ability to motivate teams, resolve conflicts, and drive performance.

·       Fluent in English (written & verbal).

·       Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Food Science, Business, or related field in a manufacturing environment


Preferred:

·       Master’s degree in engineering, Industrial Management, or Business Administration.

·       Experience in Vietnam or Southeast Asia (knowledge of local regulations, suppliers, and labor market).

·       Experience in in food/feed manufacturing with food/feed safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, or local regulations) is a plus.

·       Fluency in Vietnamese (highly desirable for local operations).

·       Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or industry-specific software).

·       Knowledge of automation & Industry 4.0 (e.g., IoT, predictive maintenance)

- Monthly Salary Range: 3,000 – 5,000 USD.
