We are looking for Product Engineers in different categories to support the development, quality, and commercialization of consumer products across Southeast Asia and South Asia. This position plays a key role in the end-to-end product development process, from concept to mass production, ensuring quality, cost optimization, and manufacturing feasibility. 

Depending on background and strengths, candidates may focus on: 

• Printed and packaging products 
• Toys, textiles, wood, ceramics 
• Electronic consumer goods (e.g. toys with sound, lights) 

Product Development & Engineering 

• Collaborate with design and sourcing teams to assess feasibility and propose smart product solutions 
• Ensure manufacturability, safety, and design-to-cost optimization 
• Manage engineering pilots and sample approvals (EP, FEP, PP) 
• Support new product introduction and risk assessments

Quality & Compliance 

• Define and communicate product specifications to suppliers 
• Monitor and resolve product issues during development and production 
• Ensure compliance with international standards (ASTM F963, EN71, UL, ISO, etc.) 
• Maintain SKU data and updates in internal systems (e.g. PLM)

Supplier Management 

• Work directly with suppliers across Asia to improve capabilities 
• Lead or support supplier evaluations, factory troubleshooting, and audits 
• Act as technical liaison between internal teams and external vendors

Cost & Value Engineering 

• Analyze and optimize product costs (materials, process, tooling) 
• Provide detailed cost breakdowns and suggestions for savings 
• Suggest product alternatives based on supplier core competencies

Project Management 

• Manage timelines, milestones, and communication for assigned projects 
• Prepare technical documentation and reports for internal stakeholders 
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams: marketing, R\&D, QA, sourcing

Education & Experience 

• Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related) 
• 3–5+ years experience in product development, manufacturing or sourcing 
• Industry experience in one or more of the following: 
• Toys, gifts, printed goods, packaging 
• Electronics (circuits, PCBs), consumer products 
• Ceramics, wood, home textiles

Skills & Knowledge 

• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes & product standards 
• Ability to read and evaluate technical drawings (CAD is a plus) 
• Familiar with international safety & compliance standards 
• Experience working with suppliers in Asia 
• Project management experience is a strong advantage 
• Knowledge of Lean / Six Sigma is a plus

Language & Tools 

• English: Fluent (required) 
• Mandarin / Cantonese: Advantage 
• Tools: MS Office, CAD, PLM systems, 3D design tools, Adobe (for packaging roles)
