The Senior Sourcing & Supplier Specialist will be responsible for identifying and evaluating potential suppliers, negotiating terms, and managing supplier relationships to support product development and delivery. This role involves overseeing supply chain coordination, supporting new product development, and ensuring accurate reporting and communication. The specialist will also participate in continuous improvement initiatives and make key decisions regarding quality compliance and supplier selection.

Sourcing & Supplier Management:

• Identify and evaluate potential suppliers in Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore capable of innovating product concepts or meeting product development needs.
• Engage with suppliers to negotiate favorable terms, assess quotes, and select the most suitable supplier based on cost, quality, and lead time.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with primary and secondary suppliers, fostering a collaborative approach to product development and delivery.

Supply Chain Coordination:

• Oversee and manage orders for both domestic and international divisions, ensuring timely and accurate weekly reporting of open orders.
• Assist suppliers in managing materials from initial samples to full-scale production, ensuring smooth communication and coordination with Supply Chain teams.
• Collaborate with logistics teams and warehouses to support India-based suppliers with work-in-progress (WIP) component orders and logistics.
• Develop and implement contingency plans to address any potential shortages or lead time issues with components or raw materials.

New Product Development:

• Support new product development by coordinating with suppliers on material management and product quotations.
• Ensure timely and effective launch of new products by assisting suppliers with production orders, forecasts, and pre-build strategies.
• Provide sourcing support by engaging with potential suppliers and offering product concept alternatives based on their capabilities.

Reporting & Communication:

• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of weekly open order reports for international and domestic markets.
• Communicate material purchase order statuses and follow up on raw materials/components to support finished goods purchase orders.
• Organize and facilitate supplier visits, including planning itineraries and meetings.

Continuous Improvement:

• Participate in continuous improvement and Six Sigma/Lean initiatives to optimize supply chain processes.
• Aid Engineering and suppliers in implementing effective supply chain strategies that enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Decision Making Capabilities:

• Determine the compliance of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods to established specifications.
• Select appropriate test methods to confirm that sourced products meet performance and safety requirements.
• Recommend supplier selection and corrective actions based on comprehensive quality assessments.

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline (Engineering preferred).
• Over 5 years of experience in quality assurance and sourcing in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of quality control standards and manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record in supplier selection, negotiation, and relationship management.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Fluency in Hindi or other relevant local languages is a plus.
• Frequent travel within India and occasional travel to Vietnam and other Asian countries.
