The role is responsible for coordinating Sourcing functions in support of Company business - managing procurement process from identifying vendors to commercial launch by identifying, qualifying and evaluating Asia suppliers’ capability, capacity, analyzing quotations and cost breakdowns, managing new product development schedules and monitoring supplier progress to esnure consistent quality and delivery. 

- Provide sourcing support through interaction with potential suppliers as well as providing product concept alternatives directly to Company based on suppliers’ core competencies.

- Responsible to identify Asia suppliers with new capabilities to generate concept options for new products or to meet product development requirements.

- Responsible for sourcing materials, evaluating supplier quotes, and negotiating costs to determine most desirable supplier.

- Responsible for supplier relationship management

- Responsible for product quotation during transition between suppliers to maintain supply stable

- Responsible for timeline management of all new projects to make sure new projects are completed on time by working closely with suppliers and cross-functional teams

- Responsible for making sure supplier has enough capacity to support new projects vs forecasted volume.

- Assist Engineering and suppliers to successfully develop and execute new product introductions for U.S. and International businesses. 

- Support continuous improvement and Six Sigma/Lean projects

- Other tasks assigned by managers.

- 5+ years Supply Chain or related experience preferred.

- Strong English skills: writing, reading, speaking, listening

- Fluent in Chinese and Vietnamese is a must.

- Knowledge of, or experience with, the following processes will be helpful in understanding the business. 

• Manufacturing/assembly processes – manual and automated
• Gluing, joining, pencil sharpening
• Printing/print press control
• Blister sealing
• Thermoforming
• Injection molding
• Injection blow molding
• Sonic Welding

- Experience in Sourcing/project timeline for an International Consumer Products company including knowledge of one or more of these specific product types will be helpful in understanding the business. 

• Writing Instruments (i.e. markers, pens, pencils)
• Paint/ink production
• Compounds (i.e. Clay, Dough, Putty)
• Printed/bound items (i.e. books, paper)
• Activity sets
• Toy items

- Experience in the Sourcing Supply Chain functions related to CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) companies.

• Familiarity with capacity planning, constraint management, setting buffer levels, forecasting and driving appropriate supplier actions
• Experience in leading efforts and troubleshooting Supply Chain and order management issues.
• Ability to effectively influence supplier actions while acting as a liaison for the company.

- Experience working as an intermediary or directly with CPG manufacturers/suppliers.

• Ability to negotiate/resolve issues with supplier leadership.
• Ability to effectively communicate and drive actions on a wide variety of Supply Chain issues.
• A3/structured problem solving & root cause analysis
• Lean/Six sigma familiarity, training or certification
