Main Responsibilities

The role is pivotal in coordinating Sourcing and Supply Chain operations to bolster business activities. The professional will be instrumental in managing orders for both domestic and international divisions, ensuring seamless weekly reporting of open orders, and fostering relationships with primary and secondary suppliers. This includes facilitating support for suppliers in Asia with work-in-progress (WIP) component orders and logistics, liaising with warehouses, and overseeing the logistics for demand-dependent components. The individual will also contribute to new product development by assisting suppliers with material management from initial samples to full-scale production and communicating material purchase order statuses to Supply Chain teams.


  • Identify suppliers in Asia capable of innovating concept options for new products or fulfilling product development needs.
  • Manage capacity and constraints effectively.
  • Communicate material purchase order statuses and follow up on raw materials/components to support finished goods purchase orders.
  • Assist suppliers in fulfilling purchase orders, production orders, forecasts, and pre-build strategies for finished goods, raw materials, and semi-finished goods.
  • Oversee product quotations and timeline management for all new projects, ensuring timely completion by coordinating with suppliers and cross-functional teams.
  • Engage with potential suppliers to provide sourcing support and offer product concept alternatives based on the suppliers' expertise.
  • Source materials, assess supplier quotes, and negotiate costs to select the most advantageous supplier.
  • Aid Engineering and suppliers in the successful launch of new products for domestic and international markets.
  • Organize visits, including itineraries and supplier meetings, and address other related requirements.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of weekly Open Order reports for international and domestic markets, providing essential updates promptly.
  • Facilitate new product development by aiding suppliers with material management for initial samples and production runs.
  • Promptly process component material orders via B2B transactions upon receipt of Finished Goods purchase orders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to process B2B orders and manage the Material Authorization process as needed.
  • Develop contingency plans to address shortages or lead time issues with components or raw materials.
  • Participate in continuous improvement and Six Sigma/Lean initiatives.
  • Support Asia-based suppliers with WIP component orders and logistics by collaborating with logistics teams and warehouses to meet timing requirements.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in Supply Chain or related fields is preferred.
  • Excellent command of English in writing, reading, speaking, and listening. Knowledge of Chinese is an advantage.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence supplier actions and resolve issues.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Supply Chain planning experience within an International Consumer Products environment, particularly with products such as writing instruments, paint/ink production, compounds (clay, dough, putty), printed/bound items, activity sets, and toys.
  • Proficiency in CPG-related Supply Chain functions, including capacity planning, constraint management, buffer setting, warehouse and inventory management, forecasting, and driving supplier actions.
  • Experience in managing complex Supply Chains for multi-component finished goods.
  • Problem-solving abilities, with A3/structured problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Lean/Six Sigma knowledge, training, or certification is beneficial.
