Main Responsibilities

Job Purpose


The General Manager – Vietnam Operations is fully accountable for the overall performance of the Vietnam entity, covering manufacturing operations, quality, cost, supply chain, EHS, people management, administration, and legal compliance.

The role leads all manufacturing, supply chain, quality, administrative, and people activities while acting as the ultimate owner of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) performance across Vietnam operations.

This position serves as the key interface between the Vietnam organization and HTA China, translating corporate strategy into effective local execution.



Principal Accountabilities:


1. Overall Leadership & Country Management

  • Provide end-to-end leadership of the Vietnam operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality, EHS, finance, HR, and administration.
  • Act as the legal representative of the Vietnam entity, accountable for compliance with Vietnamese EHS, labor, and environmental regulations.
  • Ensure strong governance, transparency, and adherence to Group policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Represent Vietnam operations within the Group executive structure and contribute to regional/global strategy.


2. Manufacturing & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets are met with optimal quality, efficiency, safety, and cost control.
  • Ensure stable and efficient operation of nonwoven production technologies (carding / stitch bond)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across productivity, yield, waste reduction, and equipment effectiveness.
  • Translate strategic objectives into actionable operational plans aligned with capacity and market demand.
  • Ensure that EHS considerations are fully embedded into business strategy, operational planning, and investment decisions.


3. Quality Management & Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure consistent compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and internal quality systems.
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for quality deviations and customer complaints.
  • Foster a strong quality culture through robust QA systems, audits, training, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to enhance product performance and consistency.


4. Financial Management, Cost Control & Profitability

  • Own the P&L for Vietnam operations, ensuring achievement of budget, cost, and profitability targets.
  • Implement strong cost control and financial discipline across operations, procurement, and overheads.
  • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Lead capital expenditure planning and execution, ensuring investments align with long-term strategic and ROI objectives.


5. Supply Chain, Procurement & Logistics

  • Oversee procurement, inventory, logistics, and supplier management to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Manage international trade operations by analyzing trade laws, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, following up tariffs and advising on country-specific requirements to facilitate smooth cross-border transactions
  • Develop strategic supplier partnerships to secure quality materials at competitive cost.
  • Optimize inventory levels, warehousing, and logistics flows to reduce working capital and delivery lead times.
  • Ensure supply chain resilience and risk mitigation.


6. People Leadership & Organization Development

  • Lead, develop, and motivate the Vietnam management team and workforce.
  • Set clear objectives, KPIs, and performance management processes across all functions.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, continuous learning, safety, and operational excellence.
  • Manage recruitment, talent development, succession planning, and disciplinary processes when required.


7. Administration, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure effective office administration, HR processes, payroll, controlling, and reporting.
  • Guarantee compliance with local labor law, tax, legal, environmental, and EHS regulations.
  • Maintain strong internal controls and support internal and external audits.
  • Identify and mitigate operational, financial, legal, and business continuity risks.


8. Reporting & Strategic Alignment

  • Provide regular, structured reporting to Group management on KPIs, financial performance, risks, and improvement initiatives.
  • Use data-driven insights to support decisions related to capacity, product mix, investments, and organizational development.
  • Adapt operational strategies to changing market conditions and business priorities.


Requirements

Experience:

  • Minimum 10-15 years of experience in operations management within the non-woven or textile manufacturing industry, preferably with Carding technology.
  • Proven experience managing multiple manufacturing sites, with a strong track record in driving quality improvements and operational efficiency.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Textile Technology, or a related field.

Competencies and Skills:

  • Operational Expertise: Extensive knowledge of Textiles manufacturing processes, specifically carding line technology.
  • Quality Management: Deep expertise in implementing quality control systems and driving continuous improvement in product quality.
  • Analytical & Strategic Thinking: Strong ability to analyze operational data and make data-driven decisions to improve profitability.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English, to engage with cross-functional teams, external stakeholders, and executive leadership.
  • Regulatory Compliance: In-depth understanding of EHS regulations relevant to manufacturing operations and of Customs regulations relevant to import & export activities under processing and export production model
  • Operational Excellence: Ability to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and product quality.
  • Profitability Focus: Strong understanding of cost management and to enhance profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Skilled in developing and leading teams through periods of operational change and transition.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Use of operational data to make informed decisions and improve overall business performance.

Benefits

  • Annual Salary Range: 60,000 – 75,000 USD.
  • Working Time: 7:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M., 6 days/week.
