About Our Client: A global company headquartered in Canada, with over 2,000 employees worldwide. Its Vietnam office specializes in sourcing and project development, with a team of 11 employees.

Key responsibilities

Build and maintain strong relationships with Asia’s suppliers through frequent communication, regular factory visits and proactive follow-up. Lead sourcing, logistics and project development to support the Group’s competitiveness and reliable deliveries.

Supplier relationships

• Maintain close, ongoing contact with suppliers to anticipate issues, resolve problems and ensure commitments are met.
• Assess supplier deadlines capabilities and organization; coordinate corrective actions.

Strategic sourcing

• Identify and qualify suppliers across Southeast Asia; attend relevant trade fairs.
• Lead technical reviews with Engineering, manage RFQs (request for quotes), evaluate quotations and negotiate prices.
• Implement should-cost analysis and monitor Asian market trends, including labour costs, inflation and metal prices.

Logistics and project development

• Lead and coach the logistics team to ensure timely deliveries and resolve delays.
• Oversee sister-company projects, primarily casting, machining and welding, and lead daily development meetings with the team.

• 10–15 years of engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, negotiation and decision-making skills.
• Strong sourcing and supply chain knowledge; expertise in technical drawings and specifications for casting, machining and welding.
• Strong planning skills and ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
• Proficient in English; Mandarin proficiency is an advantage.
• Frequent travel to northern Vietnam and other Asian countries, including Indonesia and China.
