Overview: The Quality Assurance Manager plays a key role in building and operating the quality management system for a wood furniture factory, with a strong focus on standardizing processes, developing visual work instructions, training employees, and embedding the mindset that each worker is the first person responsible for quality control at his or her own workstation.
Responsibilities:
+ Build, maintain and continuously improve the factory quality management system, quality procedures, standards and records in compliance with customer, legal and company requirements.
+ Develop process flow, control plans, visual standards and work instructions for each production stage of wood furniture manufacturing such as incoming material, cutting, machining, assembly, sanding, finishing, packing and shipment.
+ Lead the quality assurance approach from prevention rather than detection by ensuring every workstation has clear criteria, check points and self-inspection requirements so each worker can control quality at source.
+ Establish and implement training programs on product standards, defect criteria, workmanship requirements, SOP, safety related quality points, self-check methods and escalation rules for operators, leaders and supervisors.
+ Verify training effectiveness and skill competency by audit, observation, layered process checks and periodic re-certification of workers on critical operations.
+ Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Planning, Purchasing and Warehouse to ensure materials, machines, tooling, drawings and instructions are aligned with approved quality requirements before production starts.
+ Manage incoming, in-process and final quality assurance activities, while shifting the factory from dependence on inspectors to ownership of quality by line leaders and operators.
+ Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions for internal defects, customer complaints, supplier issues and repeated process failures using suitable tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, Pareto or 8D.
+ Monitor quality data and quality KPIs including defect rate, rework, scrap, first pass yield, customer complaints, supplier performance and audit findings; issue daily, weekly and monthly reports with improvement actions.
+ Plan and conduct internal audits, process audits and system audits to ensure compliance and discipline in execution of approved procedures and standards.
+ Develop the QA team, supervisors and key users in the factory to become trainers and process coaches who can sustain standards on the shop floor.
+ Review supplier quality capability, material standards and incoming defect trends; cooperate with suppliers on corrective actions for wood, hardware, paint, packaging and outsourced processes.
+ Promote continuous improvement, 5S, lean quality thinking and mistake-proofing solutions to reduce variation, prevent defects and improve customer satisfaction.

- University degree in Quality Management, Industrial Engineering, Wood Technology, Production Management or related fields, with solid experience in quality assurance within furniture or wood manufacturing.
- Good understanding of wood furniture manufacturing processes, material characteristics, finishing requirements, product standards and common defects at each production stage.
- Strong capability in building SOPs, visual work instructions, control plans, quality standards and training systems for operators and supervisors.
- Strong leadership, coaching and communication skills with the ability to influence production teams and build a culture in which quality is owned by everyone.

- Knowledge and experience in quality management systems and tools such as ISO 9001, 5S, Lean, 7 QC tools, FMEA or equivalent methods are preferred.
- Ability to organize, audit, monitor implementation discipline and drive results through data, shop-floor observation and follow-up actions.
- Able to read technical drawings, specifications and customer requirements; familiar with measurement methods and inspection records.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality reporting; good English and Vietnamese communication skills.
